When Landry’s Restaurants purchased the Golden Nugget a renovation project was envisioned. They called upon American Sealants Inc. to assist in creating the $30 million swimming pool masterpiece from visionary Tilman Fertitta. The endeavor called for a three-story waterslide that plunges through a 200,000-gallon shark aquarium built in the center of the swimming pool. Named as “Most Extreme” by the Travel Channel, this pool is unlike any other in Las Vegas.
The acrylic tube was the first of its kind in the United States allowing swimmers to slide through the middle of the shark tank while catching a glimpse of aquatic marine life. Not allowing concrete rebate issues and non-conformance to stop them, American Sealants Inc. fabricated three of four, nine-inch thick, curved acrylic panels on site.
As with any project, deadlines are crucial. Even though general contractor issues resulted in a three-month delay, American Sealants Inc. completed all acrylic fabrication, installation, water proofing, and additional requested labor ahead of schedule.
As a result of outstanding work performance and team effort, American Sealants Inc. and Landry’s Restaurants continue to work together today on several projects across the United States.
