Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Clearwater, Florida
The Installation
This marine mammal rehabilitation acrylic maintenance program brought American Sealants Inc. to Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the rescue facility made famous by Dolphin Tale. ASI installed the very large and thick acrylic windows for the facility’s new expansion — unique shapes and sizes that bring an experience like no other for guests. The centerpiece is a 40-foot-long by 14-foot-tall curved acrylic window, part of a 1.5-million-gallon habitat with nine viewing windows in all, opened in July 2020 as part of the $80 million expansion of the Ruth and J.O. Stone Dolphin Complex.
Ongoing Maintenance
ASI was also hired to maintain the aquarium’s other exhibits, keeping them looking their best for guests and animals alike. It’s always a treat to get extra eyes on the job — in this case, from Hope, one of the facility’s resident rescued dolphins, who made sure the crew stayed on task and didn’t miss a spot on her windows.
