Environmental Discovery Center
This underwater viewing dome acrylic construction brought American Sealants Inc. to the Indian Springs Metroparks Environmental Discovery Center, part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system. ASI built an acrylic tunnel that leads visitors below the surface of the center’s naturally managed pond, opening into a dome that puts them at eye level with the pond floor.
Opened around 2005, the dome lets visitors watch native Michigan wildlife up close, including bluegill, largemouth bass, sunfish, painted and snapping turtles, and northern water snakes, among the pond’s other residents.
As with every ASI project, the goal was a seamless, crystal-clear viewing experience built to last.
